Review on 🚲 SCHWALBE Marathon Winter Plus Tire 26x1.75 - Wire Clincher, SmartGuard, Winter, 67TPI, Black by Jesse Stewart

Bought a pair of these for my winter commuter bike. I drive 7 miles one way across Pittsburgh to get to work and I needed something that would allow me to safely navigate snowy and icy roads. The transition from 700c x 28 street tires to these wasn't easy (but not surprising). Since I commute to work for fitness and not speed, the initial 2km/h average speed I took didn't bother me. I've definitely increased my training by bringing my average movement speed back to where it was before! However, I've already ridden these beasts in 3 inches of fresh snow for two days - some with a layer of ice underneath - and I'm impressed. Traction is excellent, the tread doesn't fold and they don't really take on too much snow and mud. I was amazed at how I could tackle a long, fairly steep snow slope without losing traction or spinning the rear wheel. Defo is worth the investment! I highly recommend it!
