Review on Tool-Less 4X 2.5” SSD/HDD & Slim/Ultra-Slim ODD Adapter Mounting Bracket - Flex-FIT Quinto MB344SPO for 5.25” Bay by Elder Unogu

It's cheap, but it works.

I ended up getting this pretty good hot-swappable dual 2.5" drive bay by clearing the engineering lab of excess non-essential equipment on the job and letting the staff handle the rest of the equipment let. Not only that, but also the necessary cables to connect it. Now I needed a place to install and use this thing. I actually want to fit my gaming rig in, but the only external drive bay is occupied by a really good Pioneer Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc burner. I had an empty 5.25" external drive bay on my secondary computer, it was that crappy HP that I've upgraded countless times. However, the dual 2.5-inch hot-swap drive is designed to fit the 3.5-inch drive bay. So I'm looking for a decent bracket that will allow me to fit a 3.5" drive into a 5.25" drive bay. I found this and it works. It's really cheap plastic. Not only that, none of the screw holes lined up with the drive unit screw holes so it snaps into place, but it would be nice if it were more securely attached. Installation was a little tricky in this particular case and I had to remove the power supply to access the drive bay and also remove the graphics card (Sapphire AMD RX-580 card) to access the SATA connectors. on the motherboard. But after all that, I installed the damn thing and it really works. I had a couple of spare 2.5" drives (HDDs, not SSDs), put them in and it worked. The machine recognized and allowed me access to any 2.5 hard drive I put in this thing. I installed a real SSD (also 2.5) on this machine, but I didn't bother to reinstall it in the ICY dock. However, this product lives up to the hype, and for just $10, it's not a bad deal. The plastic feels pretty cheap but feels strong enough to do the job.
