Wow so before I had a 2 wire receiver in the back of my garage receiver there was a lot of hiss but radios still showed up occasionally. This receiver blew up and I received a used receiver from a friend that contained nothing but noise. I live in the outer suburbs of Minneapolis/St. Louis. Paul, this receiver had a 75o pressure on the antenna, didn't work at first (because it was screwed in), you had to press the f adapter, I bought it from Menards for $1.30. this thing picks up every station crystal clear. I'm very happy that I don't have to plug in my phone to receive radio stations. Money well spent!
