Works great for antennas

If you're looking at this article, you probably already know what a dipole VHF antenna is. This is inexpensive, a reasonable length, and has an "F" shaped plug (like a cable TV plug). So if this is the FM aerial connection your receiver uses and providing you don't live in a outlying area then this is the choice for you.

The antenna design is bad.

One arm of the antenna was torn off in the factory packaging. I put it in the Y clamp and squeezed it in place. Both antennas have now fallen off during use. This antenna design is of very poor quality. The reception was fine, but the antenna fell apart. I would like a new replacement for this antenna. I'd be happy to send the old one over for review. Poor build quality but reception was fine until it fell apart.

Ideal for areas with poor FM reception

I love listening to the radio but work in an office with terrible FM reception. I finally got fed up with it and along with this antenna I bought a new radio with an external antenna adapter (Sangean WR-15BK). Now, not only can I receive stations that used to be weak, but I can also receive FM stations that my other radio/antenna couldn't even hear. Not a bad thing, but I had to get creative with my office decor so it didn't look like I had wires on the wall.

Better than expected.

Interesting. This is a high quality two wire antenna. Used this on an old Onkyo receiver whose dipole antenna cable I lost when we last moved. Looks as good or even better than the OEM cable that came with our receiver. I was able to go from one FM station to more than two dozen stations in stereo without a cable. Cost 7.79 price tag. Something like this costs over $14 in a big store. We received it in two days via Revain Prime. The only thing I didn't like was that the RG "F" connector wasn't…

Greatly improves FM reception by sacrificing aesthetics or space

Bought to improve FM reception on an old stereo. Unfortunately, it had the wrong connector type. I needed a plug connection, not a coaxial screw connection. Later added an adapter. Works great and delivers significantly improved reception. If aesthetics is a requirement, consider that it must be stretched to its full length + width for optimal reception. I hid it behind the stereo and TV stand. Alternatively, it doesn't take up the space that "antenna boxes" do. So if space at the top of your…

From static to stations!

Wow so before I had a 2 wire receiver in the back of my garage receiver there was a lot of hiss but radios still showed up occasionally. This receiver blew up and I received a used receiver from a friend that contained nothing but noise. I live in the outer suburbs of Minneapolis/St. Louis. Paul, this receiver had a 75o pressure on the antenna, didn't work at first (because it was screwed in), you had to press the f adapter, I bought it from Menards for $1.30. this thing picks up every station…

Almost works

Helped some with reception. However, I do not blame this antenna. I would give 5 stars if this completely solved my problem. It seems well made and I have used this type of antenna in the past in a different setup at the same location and it has worked well. Now I have new hardware and a new media console. direction in vain. I just can't find a way to avoid multipath in my current configuration, so I'm a little sad and frustrated as I'm otherwise happy with my new media gear and furniture. I'm…

My reception is deteriorating

Three stars is a conditional rating - if I get an answer to a question, I'll change it to 5 stars. Reception problem when this external FM antenna is connected to the radio. I bought an external VHF antenna "FM Dipole Antenna - Plug 'F'" from MCM Electronics that Revain recommends with the Sangean WR-15WL radio. With the switch on the back of the radio set to Int (internal antenna) reception is pretty good - at least 20 stations have a signal strong enough to light the green tuning LED. When…
