Review on T316-Stainless Steel 1/16'' Wire Rope,7X7 Strand Core Marine Grade(200Ft) by Nicholas Erickson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Lots of wire and crimps for a good price

Not much to say about this stuff. It's a 200ft spool of 1/16 stainless steel cable for making lightweight wire ropes for string lighting, hanging picture frames, etc. The wire is nonmagnetic so seems to actually be stainless steel. This spool comes with a package of 100 crimp connectors. I didn't count them so have no idea if there are actually 100 in the package but there are enough in the package that it'll last quite a while. You'll need a special tool to crimp these if you don't already have one. These can be found pretty inexpensively. One thing about this sort of wire is that the wire wants to unwind once you take the shrink plastic off of the spool. The spool that comes with this wire doesn't have any sort of keeper holes that you could thread the wire through to prevent unwinding. I'd recommend drilling a few 1/8" holes around the perimeter of the spool to fill this need.

Pros
  • Pulling & Lifting
Cons
  • Could be subject to abrasion damage over time
