Firstly, this isn't the only brand of battery powered security cameras I own and I can't recommend one that hasn't met my expectations. I will not list them. This GX7S arrived about a week ago as per the description on the box and is being used for surveillance purposes along with my existing Zumimall GX1S and Q1 Pro. Installation and setup may take more than 5 minutes, your first camera downloading the CloudEdge app and installing the hardware, but the result is very satisfying. As an existing owner of meanwhile 3 Zumimall cameras, the hardware and app connection was done faster than a second thought. The application has a + icon to add more devices and just listen to the verbal instructions. I used 64GB micro SD cards of choice, although the camera accepts up to 128GB, but they record in kilobytes. For example, I have a camera set to the most frequent, longest and highest time sensitivity for motion recording in a high traffic area and it has filled up to 5GB in 6 months. Additional gigabytes seem unnecessary to me, even 32 GB would be enough. The benefit of this camera is the pan and tilt capabilities when I need to check an area that isn't covered on a typical day. There is no zoom function, but don't worry, when viewing an event or live image in the application, you can "pinch out" to enlarge the image. In my opinion, the zoom function in the camera is not needed at all. But if you absolutely must see scavenging insects on your garden veggies, you can do so in high resolution on the app. The latest app update includes a handy feature for reading recorded images on an SD card or cloud subscription account. Sorting videos to view can be done quickly by clicking on the image to see what triggered the motion detector and then I can choose to watch the video. To save time! I don't know how long the battery will last. I use compatible solar panels and have found that batteries never drop below 90% on dark or dreary winter days. A few words about technical support. I have quite a long experience with Zumimall cameras and fortunately short technical support, both of which deserve my highest praise. These people are observant and will respond promptly, but you should understand that they may be in a different time zone than you and it may take a few hours for the response. I think sometimes they stop for a drink or a little break. If the FAQs in the app don't meet your troubleshooting needs, rest assured the technicians have the answer!
