Fantastic Belgian waffle maker. Easy to use and just works. We used the standard box/pouch pancake mix (you just add a bit of butter in addition to the water you need) and a real Belgian waffle mix (egg + oil + water). The Belgian mix is better in my opinion, but the kids like the pancake mix version too. I've found that the highest heat/cook time setting (#5 on the dial) works best. We love when they're crunchy on the outside, which #5 handles, but stay soft on the inside, which is perfect. If you select less than 4 on the heat/cooking time scale, you will end up with slightly brown waffles that can be a bit brittle. I don't use the included measuring cup when filling the machine with waffle mix. I use a spout bowl and slowly pour the mixture in until I know the waffle maker is full. Don't overfill or you'll wipe out the mess. The mixture will expand slightly as it heats, so pour it in slowly, watching for any "bubblesβ in the batter. Then stop when it's almost full. After baking, there is a small edge that I simply cut off so that the waffle is round. Cleaning is also easy. Allow the machine to cool completely and simply shake off any leftover waffles. Non-stick cooktops don't even need cooking spray. Simply use the non-scratch tongs to separate the waffles when you're done cooking. Overall, it's easy to use, makes perfect Belgian waffles, and kids love them with real maple syrup. So that's the winner in this house. We also love the Cuisinart Grat coffee maker and 11-cup stand mixer. All great products.
