I wish I had done more research on these pads before buying as even Hawk's own friction charts show they are pretty dumb. These pads don't bite well in cold weather, making them poor travel pads in general. They feel significantly worse than my standard pads (Focus SVT) and don't seem to provide any benefits when hot, so they also lack half the high performance. Luckily only on my rear brake. This is a good example of why these pads suck. In cold weather, the fronts grip well and predictably, while the rear wheels are wooden. When hot, the rear wheels are slightly more aggressive than the front wheels. So when I ride, my brake balance shifts back and forth depending on the temperature of the brake. The balance could also be corrected up front by using HPS, but then all my cold braking would be bad. In short, try something different for a high performance outdoor pad. I will swap them out for something else when the front pads wear out. This will be the first time I've thrown away really usable brake pads.
