I bought this to use my iPad Air (4th gen) in the kitchen. It holds up well and under the rubber caps on the hinges there is access for the included Allen key so you can tighten the hinges as tight as you like. There's a ball joint that snaps into a socket on the back of the tablet's "clamp" with a screw cap that compresses the socket around the pen, allowing you to increase the resistance there enough to set the angle in the direction you want . The ball joint also rotates left to right, allowing you to make additional adjustments.
