Review on ⛳ Garmin Approach Z82 Golf GPS Laser Range Finder with Flag Accuracy Within 10 Inches and 2-D Course Overlays by Jose Schweigert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Incredibly good golf technique

I have to say that I bought the Approach Z82 on a spur of the moment after seeing a Garmin advert on Facebook. I used it for seven rounds. For comparison, I've had a Leupold GX-4i3 as a rangefinder in my golf career and more recently a Bushnell Tour V4 Shift. The accuracy of this range finder is as good as my previous two. There is no fear. Aiming at the flag can be a little awkward for first-time users, but you'll definitely get the hang of it, even without a steady hand. It has vibration technology like most others with this feature. It's about the same size and still ergonomic. My favorite feature is what makes the built-in GPS stand out: the laser range arc. Once you've entered some of your standard counters, this feature ensures you never doubt yourself again when it comes to cleaning ponds, fescues or whatever. Also super handy is the auto-switch to green vision when you shoot the pin on approach - complete with front and back yards. Do you think the bunker is within reach for you? It may not be the case after using the type of hazard and literally running bunker after bunker on the hole you are playing! My only cons are probably the same as those you may have read elsewhere: 1) It's not easy to take it out of the carrying case and put it back in again and again. You almost have to leave him. The case is definitely durable and protective, though, so that's a good thing. 2) You really need to practice using all the many menu options this thing has BEFORE you start playing. And do it many times. I've only done it once. You will delay your game partners if you are not ready. But let yourself be surprised what the Z82 can do. 3) I haven't found an easy way to restart a round if you accidentally disabled it while entering your scorecard (yes, you can do that right too!) 4) Prize. I personally think it's worth selling the other two to cover the cost. But if you can pull the trigger, you won't regret it. In my opinion this is a real five star product. If it falls under $500 and Garmin can provide a case that can be easily removed and returned, I'll upgrade it to five stars. Still enjoying it and ready for a hot day at the track. Morning!
