I bought this sump pump because my existing sump pump broke during heavy rain in the Baltimore area. Bought to replace a submersible pump I bought from Home Depot that couldn't handle the flow of water into my sump attached to a 5/8 inch garden hose. I bought a Little Giant SPDK 1-1/2" drain hose to connect to this pump because I saw the connections only start at 1". This combination saved me from another flood in my basement. must be careful and install the float so that it does not touch the drain hose. It took me a few cycles to fix it. Now my basement is free of flooding before I have new drain plates and a new drain pump and installed well)
