Love this system. I have a whole house water softener that uses sodium chloride granules to soften the water, resulting in a slightly salty water taste. I've also noticed salt residue in the ice trays and drip tray on the fridge. The standard filter in the fridge just couldn't cope. I chose to connect the system to my fridge to cool my drinking water and filter the water for the ice maker. This system cleared all that up and now I have delicious water and ice out of the fridge. Installation was pretty easy, but can be a bit tricky for not-so-experienced people. A few installation tips. 1) Use PTFE tape on all NPT connection threads. 2) You may need to purchase your own mounting screws if using double wall cabinet. Make sure the flat washers and lock washers distribute the load appropriately. 3) You may have to play with the pressure in the hydraulic tank. Luckily there is a Schrader valve at the bottom of the tank to bleed off the pressure or add via an air compressor and tire inflator. Too little pressure and the water flows very slowly. Too much pressure and the shut-off valve on the fridge may not close properly, resulting in a lot of water splashing on the floor. Finally, the customer service is top notch. They respond to emails very quickly within a day.
