The paper holds water well if you are not too heavy. I like to do a pencil sketch on paper first, but with this paper you don't want to erase as it destroys the texture and you can still see marks. So if you can make a good outline without erasing, you're fine. I love this paper, but it requires a softer, more considered approach than most watercolor papers. Once the ink hits the paper it holds up well and I don't get a lot of creases. The paper is not suitable for wet-on-wet and if you make a mistake it will not peel off easily. So the bottom line is this: take your time, be careful and you will love what you can do with this paper.
