I've been an API fan for years, my first XP3 filters are about 10 years old and they work great with this day. I recently had an issue with some of the new ones, they ripped where the hose connectors turned. I contacted the API and was told I would need to send in the filter before I could receive a replacement. I've still used the filter, it hasn't leaked, but who knows how many more times I could remove the cap to clean the filter before it breaks. I asked if they could send a replacement so I could send a bad one and they said no they can't. So I just bought a Filstar and threw that filter away. I will never buy an API again. I'm usually the kind of person who's loyal to the brand until I come across something like this. Just my two cents but they lost me as a regular
