Transfers dye and strong smell

Upon opening, I was immediately hit with a strong chemical smell. I was worried it would seep into my project so wiped it down with a wet cloth. Turned out to be a good thing I did that rather than just let it air out because the cloth picked up the blue dye used to mark the mats. The smell did not dissipate before I needed to use it and I ended up putting parchment down to try to prevent the dye getting on my project. That seemed to work but really if I have to worry about that, I’d just as soon use another set. Im still giving some stars because the material is sturdy and the price was good. If you are a better planner than I and clean/air them out ahead of time, it may be ok for a reasonably priced set.

Pros
  • The set offers a useful and convenient storage solution for t-pins and other knitting accessories
Cons
  • The pins may be too thick or too thin for certain fabrics
