I bought these for the desert portion of the PCT. Love the light color (grey) and the fabric in the toe box feels soft and comfortable AND tightly woven which should handle more sand and mud than my Superior 2s and recently purchased Lone Peak 4.5s. I didn't like the one-sided burrito-style tongue, and the standout was the outsole, which doesn't have the flared lip of the older Superior and is a lot stiffer and doesn't have that aggressive profile. So I will return them and leave the Lone Peak 4.5 for long hikes.
