Although many manufacturers claim that their products are made of stainless steel, due to the poor quality of the metal they rust. This set is the real deal. I bought a total of 6 loops (2 sets of 3) over a year ago and now I can finally review them. They have been on the road for over a year and have no rust spot. The metal surface is also not tarnished. Just as shiny as in the box. I put these hinges on the lid of the sandpit that we close at night or when the kids aren't using it. The hinges are mounted horizontally on the lid door - when it rains they stay covered with water. However, no rust. We had a lot of snow last winter too. The loops were covered in piles of snow for many, many weeks. However, no rust. I'm writing this review because I just bought more for my barn doors. Excellent loops.
