
My initial problem was the faucet which I didn't know about at the time so I bought it and replaced both. . The faucet then began to drip, eventually resulting in a constant flow despite the handle being in the off position. Luckily I kept the original piece and put it back on. The original part is approx. 21 years old. Guess what? There is no more leakage and the handle rotates smoothly again. Here are the "genuine" Kohler parts. You might as well buy a cheaper unbranded part and you might have better luck.
