I have been a trained mechanic for almost 20 years. The store I work at is not a pull shop. We do not have the specialized equipment required to custom bend and fabricate a custom exhaust pipe from universal parts. That is why we insist on using Walker branded exhaust in our shop. They are of very high quality and fit as well or even better than any other brand I have ever used. You are unlikely to experience any discomfort during the installation process when using these products. I installed this muffler on my '95 Jeep Wrangler. After removing the stock muffler, this replacement muffler slips directly onto the remaining stock exhaust and fits perfectly without any modifications or adapters. You can buy a cheaper generic exhaust but I think the adapters are worth it to get it working. An extra trip or two to the parts store during repairs can be a real drag if you work nights after work or are lying on your back in the driveway with the parts store already closed. Also, in my experience, installing adapters to rot parts interferes with the overall fit and alignment of the rest of the system. With Walker and I, you don't have to worry about it, it's worth it.
