One of the bolts that hold my CV axle to the wheel hub was rounded with a hex screwdriver and after watching a few youtube videos on how to remove the rounded bolts I decided to try it. It is recommended to drill slightly into the shank to increase the bite of the conical tool but be careful if you drill too much you round off the head even more and the tool will stop working. This worked great on a CV joint, but then I tried it on something else, a harder steel, and ended up rounding the head with a drill and just turning the tool. They say rounding up to 85% works and that's probably correct. Great option in your toolbox
