Bad latency over short distance

Easy install on my desktop with windows 10. Plug n' play. Unfortunately, the range seems almost non-existent. First, I installed it on an internal USB drive and connected a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse located about 4 feet from the adapter. Although I was able to get them to connect successfully, the latency was terrible. Actions were delayed by 2-3 seconds or more. I moved it to the rear USB port. again about 4 feet away from the equipment to be used. I previously assumed that the problem was in the aluminum housing. This has improved, but the input lag was still around half a second. Finally, plug it into the front USB port which is only 3ft away, almost completely clean. Although this almost solved the problem, there are still bursts of latency every 30 seconds or so. I ended up having to use a USB extension cable to get the adapter within about a foot of my devices, which resolved the issue. but that is completely unacceptable to me as a temporary solution. I will replace him.
