I use the chair on my sewing machines, usually in the position for 5-10 minutes, then get back up. Works great for that. The high range is very good, but the base isn't designed for long hours at the table when you might want to rest. It has a small diameter that fits closer to the work area and is therefore less stable than a traditional task chair. Need a writing chair, spend the money and buy a real one. Need a chair with a small footprint that you can quickly get in and out of at work, this one gets the job done perfectly.
