I only put them on today so I can't comment on their durability. You can see what the glue looks like in one of my photos, not much quality control and one of my "O's" had the glue stuck too close to the edge and it's noticeable when you look at it, otherwise I had to flip it, using the sticky heavy side down. Be sure to look at the adhesive on each individual letter before attaching. If it's sticking out too much, maybe trim it off a bit with a knife, or if it's an "O", flip it over and lay it side down. Be sure to buy an eraser to remove the glue from the original badge, it's really quick. They're okay, but the Chevy is probably worth the extra $40.
