I bought the 2T for my 2 year old who is very small for his age. The coat fits, but I would recommend buying a size up. He will definitely only be able to wear it this fall. It's also very thin - which is good, which is bad. It is nothing more than a vinyl jacket that has some weight. It's almost a paper fabric, which is good for warm weather. But I'm afraid the material is so thin that it tears easily when he plays with it. As long as I like it But I wouldn't buy it again.
