Review on πŸ”₯ FireStik SS-124A: Universal Stainless Steel Screw-On Flat CB Antenna Mount - High Performance Accessory by Adam Johnson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

a simple piece of metal.

Given the thinness of the metal, it's surprisingly strong. For my application, I installed it on the driver's side fender just under the hood. I had to cut the end off a bit to bring the antenna a little closer to the body and drill a new hole in the bracket and fender. I ate 4 drill bits to make this hole until I finally got a black oxide drill bit. As I said, this thing uses quality steel. Just make sure that wherever you attach the metal, it's strong enough to not warp. The steel in this bracket is much stronger than the thin sheet metal used for the Jeep Wrangler factory fender. I had two problems. Regardless of the mount itself where I placed the antenna (on the front fender) there was a little more wind than I would like when using the 4ft antenna on the freeway. I ended up getting a TJ tail light mount for the rear and relocated my antenna there.2. The presence of a single hole slightly reduces the stability of the mount (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). However, if the position of your bracket allows you to make a second hole for the second screw, you will be very happy. Overall, this is a durable and affordable mount that frees up a lot of options. Bracket for mounting on a mast without light. I found this mount to be perfect for mounting, except the 4 inch antenna sticks out too high there. If you have a 3 foot antenna and want to place it a good foot above the roofline, this would be the perfect location and mount for it.

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
