I'm no network expert. I'm not able to draw you a network diagram of my "home LAN" and honestly I don't want to. DMZ is a military term to me. I only wanted 2 things: I needed wifi at home and I needed decent security in front of my computer. I'm not too concerned about hackers sitting outside my house with wireless network adapters trying to connect. My computer would be the last thing I would reach for in a situation like this. Now, I don't really have a point of comparison (Linksys, Netgear, etc.), but I find that Microsoft hardware products tend to be more premium than other brands (I'm a bit biased, having worked there). The ONLY issue I had with setup was that my SBC DSL software had a firewall application conflicting with the router. Once the software was disabled, I connected with no issues. I also bought a Microsoft wireless network card for my laptop so I can surf the web from anywhere in my house (Level 1, 1650 sq ft). The case when I had to call MS tech support was a minor one. You are wonderful! They got me up and running in no time (I called SBC half a dozen times and 4 hours later they were still in the dark). A colleague of mine recently bought a Netgear setup and had the same software/hardware conflict, so be aware. Overall: This router works great and is everything I could ask for. The menu is simple. and intuitive. Tech support is GREAT! The price is competitive. What else do you have? I highly recommend.
