Review on πŸ–₯️ Geekworm Raspberry Pi 4 Aluminum Case with Passive Cooling and Heavy-Duty Heatsink for Raspberry Pi 4 Model B/Pi 4B Only (P171) by Punk Espinoza

A good option to keep your Pi cool!

Got this for a Raspberry Pi project I was working on. I really wanted something that would cool the board. But I decided I didn't want the bedroom fan running all night. It was a cross between a Flirc case with a number of ratings and this one, which at the time only had one rating. After checking both options and looking at a few YouTube reviews (flirc only), I decided to take a chance. Both use an aluminum "notch" that makes contact with the processor, essentially turning the entire case into a giant heatsink. Very cool no pun intended design. The reason I went with the Geekworm model was that not only did it have metal in contact with the processor, but also with the onboard RAM and USB/Ethernet controller. In reading reviews of the Pi, several people have mentioned that these components also get very hot; especially if you do a lot of network traffic. Since it was supposed to be a proxy server, it was hammering all the time. Once assembled, everything has been done to keep the case cool to the touch. The only thing I could change is that the thermal pads looked pretty good. They had as little material as possible, making the plastic on the outside very difficult to peel off. I ended up returning the case because the Pi project was canceled. When I disassembled the case, the adhesive pad was almost non-existent and I was able to peel it off easily. If I had to take on another project, I would have no hesitation in taking on this case again, although I would probably try to come up with something else. thermal situation that contained thermal paste.
