I tried using 3 of these with 3 Crucial MX500 SSDs to mount in a Supermicro case sled. From the looks of it, they worked great. The slices kicked in and fell into place. The slides are bolted on - although the fit was tight and they wanted to splay a bit, they still bolted on nicely and slid into the body. But the system didn't recognize them as connected at all. Tried tweaking a bit but nothing - none of the three showed up as set in the BIOS. I removed a sled and just tried to insert the adapter without support. It ran fine and seemed to fit into the SATA connectors in the bay, but the system still didn't recognize it. Finally, I removed the SSD from the adapter and simply plugged it into the slot in the shaft. by themselves (they are really light so they can be hung without much worry). It worked fine. Connecting two other MX500's this way also worked flawlessly. So this adapter doesn't work at all for these drives. I'll try the "lite" version and see if it works as another reviewer suggested (because it doesn't use the complicated sliding mechanism).
