
The drive is recognized by Windows and Linux, but will NOT read any type of media inserted. Rotates up and down while the disc is in the drive. Do yourself a favor and spend another $5 on something that might work. UPDATE: After a second search, almost every $14-$30 drive turned out to be the exact same cheap device with a rename and minor top case changes. Check out the underside of any of them and they are identical. About 7 out of 100 are defective. Check the reviews - YMMV
