Review on Pearl iZUMi Women's Escape Sugar Short: Optimal Comfort and Style for Active Women by Buddy Colbert

I bought these shorts because I can't stand those extra long 8" or 9" shorts. The old sugar shorts were too tight in the legs, but that's a big improvement over the old version. Pearl eventually realized that not all of us have skinny legs. The material is flexible but not loose, and the lightweight grip doesn't pinch like the rubber grips of old. They fit pretty well considering most shorts are cut for curvy shapes (big hips and a tiny waist) and mine aren't. The waistband is wide and comfortable and my only complaint would be that the waist is a little lower than I wanted. Gray is a nice substitute for the usual black. The padding is mediocre, but enough for a couple of hours of cycling.
