This is a very good solid stand for the money. It assembles easily, runs smoothly and looks well built. The legs could be a little longer for more stability, but they appear to be in proportion to the top. The top is plastic, but that's not a problem. However, the top measurements include a hem on the side that prevents your items from falling off. As a result, the MacBook Pro, which I thought would fit, actually rests on the top of the ledge and slides off the top with little to no resistance. Unfortunately, the large side is significantly larger, so I kept this smaller version for myself and ordered a set of 5mm x 2" round grommets to attach to the base. Rubber grommets help keep it in place. If they increased the size of this surface to just an inch wide and created a rubbery surface over hard plastic, it would be a winner on every level! I plan to use this for my laptop when I'm in the field with a telescope.
