NOTE: The flower shape looks laser cut. Like many laser-cut materials, they can be covered with plastic films. One side will be very smooth and the other side will have some texture. Make sure you take them off if you have destructive pets that might want to chew on them. I noticed it randomly, so I can't confirm if my rats would have tried eating this stuff. I like the lock on them. They can be a bit strange to get used to, but they are very safe. I didn't have this grate at all, but with fruit and other wet treats, be aware that the carved area on the underside is a bit more difficult to clean. My rats love it. It is very easy to put on wooden toys such as beads, drilled balsa pieces, braided finger traps or loofah pieces. I recommend thicker pieces like apples or toast, softer pieces like watermelon tend to fall right off, but that's the fault of the fruit, not the stem. Carrots with a punched hole hanging from them are a favorite! I currently have one with a flower on either side of the receipt paper roll and it hangs my boys go crazy for it. Highly recommended!
