I really enjoyed using this thermometer in the kitchen! I have tested the accuracy of both boiling and frozen water and mine was accurate to within one degree! After reading the included manual, it is easy to use various functions. It is excellent for measuring the internal temperature of meat in an oven or smokehouse. The alarm is loud enough to be heard even in another room! The backlit screen was particularly helpful when smoking meat, as I can still see the display even if the smoke or steam is fogging the screen. The only problem I had is that sometimes it "drops out" and shuts down after about 30 minutes. If your meat reaches temperature after the waiting time has elapsed, no alarm will sound. As long as I click the button sometimes, I don't have this problem.
