Alarm function not reliable

I bought this partly for the alarm function but it doesn't work. This is an automatic shut-off feature that prevents the alarm from going off if you're gone for more than ten minutes. Don't buy if you are looking for a reliable alarm. I also don't like the placement of the vacation sport in the thermometer, so the device sits on its head when you want to read it on the counter.

Brief for kitchen and dining room

It seemed good when I first used it easily and accurately enough. The clock didn't show anything for numbers and I tried removing the battery and it stopped ticking, put the battery back in and ticked again but there were no numbers. I tried putting the sensor in boiling water to calibrate but it didn't work so I threw it away.

Ease of use is good for kitchenware and gadgets

Used for 7.5lb Prime Christmas Rib. I calibrated it in ice water first. I chose medium, pulled it out at a temperature of 120 degrees and let it fry for about 20 minutes. he went up to 135 I think while he was resting. It should go back to 120 before carving. but it would take much longer. Cut at 130. It was more of a medium rare than a medium rare. Next time I'll probably pull it out 115 degrees. and leave on for 15-20 minutes. All in all it worked fine.

Excellent thermometer, very reliable

This is the first instant read thermometer I've used and not only is it exceptionally fast compared to a regular thermometer, it's magnetic too! Didn't realize it when I ordered it but I can stay right in front of my stove so I always know where it is. The detachable probe in the oven is a good length and would also work for grilling, but I haven't tried it yet. I just cooked the perfect chicken with this thing and for the price it's a bargain. As a bonus, there is a bottle opener at one end…

Simple and accurate best thermometer and timer

I only used the part that needs to be taken out of the groove and it works very well. I'm tired of playing the guessing game of how long to cook steaks and poultry on my gourmet ninja grill. I overcooked my chicken wings before getting this. While they would have been delicious, they would have been a bit dry because I wanted to make sure I cooked them to a safe temperature. Very accurate Best in Meat

I really enjoyed using this thermometer in the kitchen! I have tested the accuracy of both boiling and frozen water and mine was accurate to within one degree! After reading the included manual, it is easy to use various functions. It is excellent for measuring the internal temperature of meat in an oven or smokehouse. 575°F misleading, endless alarms

Even though it claims to read up to 572°F, this slow feedback thing gets stuck once it hits 300°F because it won't stop the alarm looping endlessly . This applies to "MEAT" and "MEAT ONLY" in software design. So if you're trying to check the temperature of, say, the oil in a deep fryer before you put the meat in it, or the oils while the meat is cooking, it's basically useless.
