Review on πŸ“» EMCOMM III PORTABLE CHA by Matthew Outlaw

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Smart and functional

I took a chance based on just two reviews but I couldn't be happier. I took it out, threw the wire over some branches, tuned the radio to the antenna and started making contacts. First at 40 meters. Then 80 meters. The limbs I used were pretty low to the ground so I'm guessing I was mostly using NVIS, but it worked. The small package fits nicely in the tiny package I bought along with the battery for the radio. Now I'm fully mobile on shortwave. I like the attitude. It is designed for mobility. the base is made in the form of a wire winding. I like the carabiners that protect the cable from being pulled out of the mount. It's well thought out and well designed. The wire itself is thick, but thin enough that the entire package is relatively light. It even has a smart bungee cord holding everything together, which in turn is built into the base. Clever and functional. What else would you like?

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Empty
