It works GREAT. - Antennas

Antenna works great in my HOA, it's almost invisible in palm trees and works great, my FT-991A has no tuning. SWR less than 2 k1 without tuner.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Bad unit. How can I replace it with a working one?

The device I received is definitely defective. Resonance at 16MHz no matter how it's hung. There were high hopes but it's clear it's Friday night. The floating ring is on the counterweight. I had to return to my old faithful.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

When I pay a lot for a HF antenna I expect it to perform as advertised. To avoid having to resort to a lot of troubleshooting only to find that the cable was made too short (72ft - should have been 73ft) and all bands at 2MHz were cut off. The 20m band resonated around 16MHz as did the other reviewer here, Jonathan. See attached picture.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Reliability

Yes, it includes contacts

Can't say enough about this antenna. I paired it with the IC-705. Used exclusively in the field for POTA - thrown into a tree. I work mostly digital and CW. I was heard RBN and other broadcasters. Repetition. I heard and they hear me. Cons: The bungee holding the coiled wire in place interferes with winding and unwinding the wire. I will create a detachable keyring or binder ring unless Chameleon sends me their idea/option.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Functionality

This antenna is perfect for Xiegu G90

I am a new radio amateur. That was my first antenna. My radio has a built in antenna analyzer and antenna tuner. This antenna is perfect for my Xiegu G90 radio. The antenna takes up little space and is mounted independently on its own stand. I can pack my radio, antenna, 100-foot coax, and battery into a small backpack that leaves room for a day trip or weekend trip to campus. The antenna is very well tuned and works on all amateur radio bands with an SWR of 1.5 Avatar. without using an antenna

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • No automatic

Smart and functional

I took a chance based on just two reviews but I couldn't be happier. I took it out, threw the wire over some branches, tuned the radio to the antenna and started making contacts. First at 40 meters. Then 80 meters. The limbs I used were pretty low to the ground so I'm guessing I was mostly using NVIS, but it worked. The small package fits nicely in the tiny package I bought along with the battery for the radio. Now I'm fully mobile on shortwave. I like the attitude. It is designed for mobility.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Empty

Almost disappears from view

Meant to be a portable antenna but I use it as a permanent installation in my home with limited access to HOA. Once installed, it almost disappears from sight. In my case, he flies out of a second floor window and runs to a tree in the backyard. It operates in azimuth from 30 degrees to 210 degrees and offers really excellent reception and transmission from northwest to southeast. The matching network is 2.0 to 1 at everything except 40 meters where it is 3:1. There I use the internal antenna…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not bad
