I bought a Cygolite Metro a few years ago and since then I've been buying more and more for our family - around 20 lights for 10 bikes - because it's easier to move around to have everything you need. the same mounts, and. They work. After using it for a long time, I can say that in my opinion there is no better or more reliable option. I like that the radiation pattern is wide for better side-to-side visibility (drivers exiting back roads, etc.). Brackets are strong on the steering wheel of various sizes. If the side-to-side movement (which you can use to sweep to adjust where it's pointing on the strip, or if you're using multiple lights and want them to point a little left and right) is too weak, flip a little Blue to Loctite on the threads and sure the cable holds. I've used Metros for all-weather commutes and carried 2 or 3 on the handlebars (and helmet with helmet mount sold separately) for late-night MTB trail rides. Excellent workhorses for a variety of uses. The high beam is very bright and sufficient for seeing. The flash setting lasts a long time and is good for safe use of "daytime running lights" (highly recommended). The lowest level (activated by a long press of the button) also lasts very long and is good for multi-purpose lanes at night when you don't want the lights to be too bright for pedestrians. Or as a flashlight for a walk. Customer service was good - the only thing I ever needed was to replace some small rubber pieces for a button or USB cover that got lost due to crashes (and they sent them to me for free - super cool). The chattering that lets you know when the battery is low is useful and works well enough to charge before your next ride. For a long trip, put the spare tire in your pocket and change it when needed. Good quality battery - haven't noticed any reduction in battery life even with my Metros which are several years old. I don't want to criticize this light, but the only thing I would wish for (in a different kind of lighting) is a USB flashlight with a lens diameter of 3 or 4 inches (more like a motorcycle) because I think that drivers would see better than smaller 1-inch lenses typical of such light sources. No one seems to be doing this, and that would be clumsier.
