Looks good - doesn't heat well

The smooth finish of this mug warmer looks great on my bedside table. But the cord is so short that it doesn't reach the outlet without an extension cord. And it doesn't keep a full cup of coffee hot or even warm, with or without the lid. But half a cup of coffee or tea or less is hot enough to drink.
