Great if you want a disposable tool

It's steel so I knew it would rust over time (without proper care) but it should arrive rust free when new. Mine showed noticeable rust at the end of the string. When the threads rust, the rope cannot be replaced and your bob is just a paperweight. Revain did a great job refunding this order and I was willing to spend the extra money on a brass bob. Are you looking for a cheap disposable bean, this steel one is good in every way. If you plan to keep it for a while, skip this and get down to business from the start.
