This kit contains some inferior components. I bought it primarily as a crimping tool. The ports were a nice added bonus when I bought it (or so I thought). Crimping tool: In general, the crimping tool is fine. The cutting tool on it leaves a lot to be desired and some end up with sore hands after multiple uses. Wire Stripper: The wire stripper is pretty good. Connectors: They really suck. Of the 5 cables I ran, two were registered to the switch at 100Mbps. I had to redo them several times. In some cases they didn't snap properly and the connector fell off when I removed the wire from the crimping tool. Punch tool: I couldn't use the punch tool because the end point didn't match my sockets (cable is important, angled). Tester: I would say it's useless. On the above cables registered at 100 Mbit / s (not 1 Gbit / s), the tester lit up normally. new crimp tool. (There are only a few wires left to crimp.)
