I remember telling a friend a while back that I knew I could NEVER EVER make socks. FORGET IT. I hated knitting to be honest. But things changed and I started learning to knit for many fun reasons. The only problem I had was knitting socks. I found a great sock yarn at Knitpicks and wanted to learn how to knit socks. I failed with double pointed needles so I figured my sock sewing was doomed. Then someone suggested I try the circular needles made for socks. I found a set of Clover bamboo sock pins at a fabric store, so I decided to give them a try. Progress was slow and the tips were a bit dull, but I managed to get through my first pair of socks. They were a size 2 and seemed a bit sloppy so I decided to try a different needle size. Someone suggested other Addi steel needles as they said they were the best needles ever and I bought a pair at the festival. They were terrible. I couldn't connect to them. I gave it to my daughter who couldn't knit with it either and she can knit with almost anything. I wanted to try another pair of socks and I was very afraid that I would never be able to knit them. However, when I found them (my first pair was a size 1.5), everything changed. I'm working on my fifth pair of socks and I'm loving it. I will never go to the store for store bought socks again when I can knit them with these needles! WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS SPLIT - Knit much faster than any other needle I've used - Won't break yarn like some needles - Works on difficult sock yarns - Circumference is small so picking up is easy and not difficult - the stitches are beautiful - much better than any other sock needle I've tried - affordable price - connections are strong and no slip stitch problems - easy to work to the top to avoid long working with garter needles at the end of the sock - knitting time increase by 2 sizes up significantly marked on the needles WHAT I DON'T WANT - they can be a bit slippery if I'm not careful what I'm doing, therefore the stitches can slip off easier than bamboo needles, the size is a bit small, some people may need a magnifying glass to see to see this. These needles have taken me to levels I never thought possible. I'm a sock maker now. I bought two sets and am working on each sock at the same time. I do about 10 rows on one sock and switch to another and work in the same place. All my socks get done at the same time and they look better than any other needles I've tried, from double to round. People are shocked at how quickly I can make a pair of socks now, especially since I couldn't knit them at all a year ago! I can't get enough of these needles. You are fantastic! I've also used a variety of sock yarns including hand yarns and they really are fantastic. FIVE STARS for helping me make my dream come true!
