Review on Dyson DC17 Animal Replacement Brushroll Roller - Model #10-3404-08 by Stacy Lewis

My DC17 was making a terrible rattling noise when using the brushroll. Even after I installed a new brush roll and belt, the noise returned. I did some research and thought the noise might be caused by a bad reel motor. I've also read that some aftermarket and even OEM brushrolls can be disabled. Thought I'd give this brushroll, which is said to be made by Dyson, one last try. The seller (not Revain) said the previous one I tried was OEM. While this Revain purchase, billed as OEM, turned out to be worth every penny I paid. I really like the performance of the Dyson and after only six years of use I didn't want to get rid of my old one. If you experience a rattling noise when using a brush roller (carpet) on a Dyson, I highly recommend trying that roller with a new belt to see if it solves the problem.
