Review on UHPPOTE UL Recognized Transformer Rating 110VAC by Jerome Turner

I have a 1 year old fancy stainless steel and domed glass hood with 2 halogen lights that stopped working. It's the focal point of my kitchen and otherwise works great, so rather than replace it I partially took it apart and found that the tiny 1" 12 volt output transformer that powers the light had failed. Not wanting this mistake to happen again, I decided to look for the largest transformer with the right specs that I could fit in the room, even if it meant paying a bit more for it. The theory is that the transformer is less likely to burn out if the windings are of larger gauge wire. We have a habit of leaving the hood lights on for atmosphere in the evenings, which means the transformer is on all the time. Obviously the tiny OEM transformer wasn't up to the task. I hope this one will. So far, so good. As it turned out, this larger one (1.5 inches wide and 2 inches long) was very cheap. Good quality. Well built. Had it next day with Prime.
