Review on Crosscut Shredder - Royal Desktop by Jerardo Phi

Great compact shredder for small spaces with one small design flaw

This is the perfect shredder for apartment dwellers or those who don't have enough space to store a full size shredder. When I'm done with it, I just put it back on the bookshelf and it's out of sight, out of memory. I've had it for about a year now and haven't had any problems. You put something in and he tears it up. Exactly what I needed. As mentioned, the shredder slot is quite small, so you may have to fold paper to insert it. If you shred A LOT of paper, this may not be the best choice for you. My only criticism of this shredder is the way it indicates when the bin is full. There's no alarm or light to let you know when it's time to empty it; Instead, the basket becomes so full of shredded paper that the top of the shredder begins to lift/separate from the basket. Once this happens, the grinder will not turn on until the container and lid are in place (after you empty it). It's just a weird design flaw, but it doesn't affect the shredder's functionality. Just something to know!

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Piggy bank price
