When I'm playing video games on my ASUS Zephyrus G14 laptop, I often wish the sound was a little louder, so I decided to try this USB powered soundbar . This soundbar is perfect for laptop gaming. The box that this speaker comes in is minimalist with simple branding. In the box only the speaker and the manual. There are no other detachable peripherals, the cable is not detachable. This is a cable that splits at the USB end and the Aux port. I have to subtract a few inches from the end of the cable so the auxiliary port can reach the left end of my laptop and the USB end is on the right end. No special drivers are required, the speaker was automatically recognized by both Windows and Mac OS. The speaker is loud enough to fill a small room. The speaker sounds a bit muddy on first use, but after a few hours of music playback the sound is clearer and more immersive, perhaps because the speakers need to burn through a bit to soften the drivers. It is great for personal entertainment. Watching movies with Dolby Atmos enabled creates sound separation and makes multimedia use more enjoyable. Also playing video games is great with this speaker, I can hear footsteps or gunshots left and right depending on the game. I like that it has a large volume slider to easily adjust the volume, which is handy when gaming as you don't have to alt-tab to adjust the volume outside of the game. Overall I enjoy using this speaker. It is excellent for media consumption and gaming. It's also small enough to be carried around. This little speaker is only 15 inches long and has a good sound. Highly recommended.
