I love my Brita bottle. I've lived in Los Angeles and Savannah, Georgia where the tap water is always disgusting. Even things from the fridge filter have an odd taste/smell. But I go to class all day and hate wasting 3 plastic water bottles a day. I decided to buy a bottle of Brita. You can pour in any water from the drinking fountain (or bath water if you're desperate enough I think). You then drink through the water as it flows through the filter. It tastes great! My water goes from cloudy brown to crystal clear. Thing is, these filters are $6 each at Walmart. Let it go! I can get a double pack from Revain with free shipping for $6. PROS: - no charcoal aftertaste - no flavor at all - lasts about a month with regular use (or less in LA, sorry guys) - very easy to use - very light CONS: - expensive retail - only 2 packs (maybe cheaper, if they offered it in bulk) - make sure you screw the bottle on tightly or if you squeeze the bottle you'll drip water out of the filter onto yourself like an idiot. GENERAL: Don't expect this one Filter cleans river water for your drinking water. Gates. It's more like, "I want Dieani quality without the price or the carbon footprint." Just think, the kit is $12. The filters cost $3 each and are valid for one month. That's about 2 days of bottled water for me in college. You save money. You protect the environment. You save yourself from vomiting nasty drinking water from a well. Worth every penny.
