QUALITY ALL-CLAD KETTLE

Despite the negative reviews we decided to give this kettle a try as we were unhappy with other stiffer/thinner metal kettles we looked at and cooked with a full set of All Clad pots have I love (for many years), I thought it would be worth a try. At 2 quarts/1.9 litres, it holds a substantial amount of water, and for those who might be wondering, it's also induction compatible. This kettle doesn't disappoint. It's everything you'd expect from an all-clad in terms of ruggedness, good build quality and high-performance performance - there's no flimsy metal or tinny sound here. The lid snaps on very well and the flip spout works effortlessly. The entire kettle is stainless steel (polished on the outside) and still perfect on the inside (after daily use) - we use water from our reverse osmosis system for filling, so I'm wondering if those with an inner layer that's peeling off could be used due to hard water breaking up naturally accumulates inside and then flakes (I can't understand metal flaking as it's hard stainless steel). I've even washed my kettle in the dishwasher a couple of times just because we leave it on the stove all the time and sometimes it splatters out from what's cooking on the other burner. first start the heater, but that was explained as usual in the instruction manual. It begins to settle down as it nears boiling. I filled my kettle about 1/3 full and put it on high heat (gas stove) and it only took about 6 minutes until it boiled completely - this can of course vary depending on the type of burner and heat level. The whistle is a lot quieter than a regular kettle, which I really appreciate - you can hear when the kettle is done without hitting your eardrum. I was going to add a video with the starting sound, how it sounds after it's quiet (quite quiet) and what the whistle sounds like, but it turns out that Revain only allows me to upload one video per review, so it's me Splitting the clip with the starting audio (as other reviewers felt that was a bigger issue). It's really a bit noisy at first, but it dies down after a minute or two. Obviously this requires a potholder/oven mitt when hot, but that's what you'd expect from any 100% metal pan. On the plus side, you can be assured that it will always look new as there are no heat resistant materials on the handle that will inevitably degrade over time. We haven't had any discoloration or staining issues and use this daily and every time on high heat. We think this is a great looking teapot that will last a lifetime and will not hesitate to buy again or give as a gift.
