Review on VIVOHOME 41.5 Inch Stackable Divided Iron Bird Breeding Cage with Rolling Stand for Parakeets Canaries Cockatiels Lovebirds Finches Budgies Small Parrots by Mark Ponnusamy

Nice strong cage

I bought this cage to separate 4 parrots that were originally kept in one huge cage for several years. Since there is hierarchy in the group, you will hear them yelling at each other if one of them invades the other's personal space, trying to nap, eating, playing, or just not feeling like socializing at the moment . Sometimes there can be hostility between those who normally "love” each other. For my birds, moments of love waned and moments of animosity escalated, like cranky old spouses. I reluctantly decided to separate them and pair them with their "best friends". This cage is perfect for this situation because they can still be side by side and see each other but with a divider in the middle that gives them their own territory. Beautiful color cage, very durable, excellent quality, with smooth door. Castles. Having two small drain pans is easier than one giant drain pan. But the dividing floor in between collects a lot of seed coats and is extremely difficult to reach when it's time to clean, but that's no reason to stop me from buying this cage again if I need another. I wish I had taken them out of a huge cage and put them in a much smaller room, but they are not "spring chicks" and take up a lot less space, preferring to nap and sing rather than fly and climb like they used to do. k. Overall this is a really good product. The only negative for me - I would like more. I think the size is perfect for breeding 2 pairs as there is a side door on each side where you can fit a grow box. They don't need a lot of space when raising and feeding babies. I would not recommend this cage for young parrots as they need plenty of space and toys to stay active and busy. Not the best choice as a permanent home for small flying birds like canaries or finches that need very wide cages to fly (as opposed to tall climbing cages like hook-billed birds). Perhaps keeping a single canary (which I have too) with the baffle removed would be acceptable as male canaries are extremely territorial and should be kept alone when not actively breeding unless you have an appropriately sized enclosure. I think if you use this cage with no center divider you can fit any small bird or a compatible pair of any small breed, but I would not recommend more than two birds. I recommend it if you need to separate, breed or keep one or a pair of small breed birds. Comes with a stand with a shelf underneath for storage. And if you need more than one, they can be stacked on top of each other. Overall, the product is worth its price with good quality and versatility.
