I needed a simple lid for my aquarium to keep me from making an official full size hood (optional considering the base was made from 6 cement blocks and a 3/ 4 inch piece of plywood). I needed something that would let Mr. Turtle's UVA/UVB rays through and prevent jumping fish from jumping and falling into a long sleep ALSO provide enough power to keep the cats from falling over. Put this cover in line. On my side and bam, a cardboard screwed into a wooden plank is now in the garbage heap which I temporarily put a piece of heavy plastic on top of (weighted down because, well, cats) and can attach later - but this is exceptional, to reduce the evaporation rate.
