Better than plastic pulley OEM
Steel construction makes this replacement pulley superior to the OEM plastic part. Quiet and smooth. Replacing the stock pulley (which was binding and falling apart on my 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP) took 10 minutes. Recommended even if your plastic reel hasn't failed yet. Because it will.
